The Godfather

- Have you seen any or all of the three Godfather movies (I, II and III)? Yes, I've seen them all.

- If so, what character from 'The Godfather' will you be coming as this evening? I think the Italian grandmother would suit me. I'll come in a house dress with big pockets, scoff slippers, slight moustache and sideburns (no, I don't have either but I know they're coming) and a big pot of sauce.

- Ladies, how well do you think you'd do as a Mafia wife? Guys, how would you as a member of a Mafia crime family? I'm not sure if you can be 'made' without killing anyone but let's pretend no killing is involved. Probably not very well. I wouldn't do well with the lack of respect. Plus, I'd want to know way too much. I'd always be trying to figure out what's going on and then one day, I'll just disappear.

- Would you prefer to dress as a character from another movie? If so, who would that be and from what movie? I don't know. Holly Golightly from 'Breakfast at Tiffany's, perhaps.

- Will you watch any part of the Academy Awards' show? I'm sure I'll catch a lot of it.

- Do you have an Oscar winner predictions? Whomever won the Golden Globes, should win this too: Hellen Mirror, Forrest, Jennifer, Eddie, Mark Wahlberg (did he win?). Best Picture: Babel (just a guess, I don't know if that won either).

The People's Court

My friend and I went to The People's Court (Judge Milian), just to sit in the audience. As luck would have it, they pluck us out of back of the line and stick us both in the front row. I wouldn't mind but it's not a good spot to be when you're trying to keep from laughing. Well, oddly enough, the first case happened at the DMV in the city where I live. What are chances, right? Some time later, I ran into an old co-worker. He tells me how he saw me on the People's Court. I tell him about coincidence with the DMV. Get this, he had just assumed I was there to support the whack-job with the problem. It's just my luck to be associated with those Jerry Springer wannabees.

Junk Drawers

Do you have a junk drawer? I sure do

Do you have more than one? I sure do

Where is/are your drawer(s)? In the kitchen, I have two small junk drawers

What do you keep in there? loose change, receipts, appointment cards - stuff like that.

What other kind of junk do you collect? I don't actually collect junk. It seems valuable at the time.

Would you be embarrassed if others knew about your junk collection? No, I don't have anything to hide.

How often do you clean out your junk? Often enough. I've been on a kick of cleaning out all my drawers lately. I'm almost done.

Traveling

(1) Do you like to travel? if so, would you rather drive, fly, take the train? I'd rather walk. (hehe, jk) It depends on how far I'm going. If it's within a reasonable distance, I'll drive. Otherwise, I'd need to get ready for takeoff.

(2) Have you ever had a bad experience on a plane? If so, would ever fly again? Just the usual bad turbulence. No, it has prevented me from flying.

(3) If you ever took a plane what was the longest delay you ever had? Did the airlines ever gave you an incentive? I only remember once when I was flying to California, they had to fix something or other so we all had to get off the plane and wait. I was a little panicky, thinking how they may not fix it right. After a couple hours or so, they put us on another airline. That whole trip was a comedy of errors so it was only natural we'd have a plane delay.

(4) Is there a certain airline that would you never fly again? No.

(5) If i heard it correctly Jet Blue CEO, said they would give some money back, one way ticket or round trip tickets (depends on your # of hours delayed) what do you think of that? Well, if it's only only the people that were stuck on the plane got reimbursed, I don't think that's fair. My co-worker was supposed to fly home Jet Blue from Florida on Saturday. He wasn't sitting aboard a plane but they said his flight was to be delayed until Monday or Tuesday. He got himself a flight on another airline. Jet Blue is supposed to reimburse him but he didn't receive anything extra. For that long of a delay, he should have gotten something or they should have at least booked the other flight for him.

(6) Have you ever seen a celebrity on a plane you took or at the airport? No, but my friend's plane got delayed in Madison, WI maybe 10 years ago. Waiting along side her, reading some financials, was none other than Bill Gates. I'm pretty sure he was the richest man in the world back then. Even if he wasn't, he was close enough. I was surprised he didn't have his own private jet.

Favorite shows

Tell us the show you most look forward to each week.ONE show only!!

Ugh! Not being able to pick more than one show that I look forward to watching is like not being able to pick more than one food to eat. Oh, the cravings I'd have!

As of right now, I suppose I'll choose 24. Ask me in a couple of weeks and it will probably be a toss up between the Amazing Race, DWTS or AI.

Had this been the first season of 24, no other show could have compared. I'll even say that for the second season, although the first was THE BEST show ever. Now that it's in its whatever season, the excitement, the anticipation and the unpredictability are all gone. I know I've said that all before but it still a big disappointment. The only reason I still watch it is because I could never leave Jack.

Honorable mention: Brothers & Sisters, Medium

Tell us the show you're sorry you didn't tune into and now wish you had. ONE show only!

The show I wish I had started watching is Rome. It didn't catch my eye in the beginning but it seems so many others enjoy it. I'm sure I would too.
Honorable mention: Heroes, The Office

Weekend Topic

- If you had to go the month of March without TV, which show would you miss the most? That's a hard one for me. I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but I think it would be American Idol. DWTS and 24 are close seconds.

- Are you good at telling jokes? I'm horrible at telling jokes. My timing, my tone of voice, it's all bad.

- Who taught you how to ride a bike? My brother Vinnie did. A few years back, I asked my nephew Jeff, "Who taught you how to ride a bike"? He thought for a few seconds and then said, "You did". I can't pinpoint why, but I felt honored when he said that.

- Would you streak in front of a huge crowd of strangers for $5,000? Yeah, as long as they remained strangers. lol Actually, if anyone wanted to be my friend after that, they'd probably make a wonderful friend.

- You are sitting in the back row at a funeral. The row in front of you is empty. Besides the woman, with whom you do not know, sitting next to you, your row is empty as well. Except for some sobbing, all is quiet. You hear a phone ring. The woman next to you takes out her cell phone and begins talking loudly. Would you:

A. Tell her cell phones are highly inappropriate at a funeral and she needs to hang up immediately.
B. Ask her to lower her voice.
C. Change seats.
D. Not say anything and hope she ends the call quickly.

My answer is C. I'd probably move down a few seats so it doesn't appear that I'm with her. Then D. would kick in.

- It's a very special evening. Your partner or close friend received a huge promotion and you want to celebrate in style. You rent a limousine and make reservations at a fancy schmancy restaurant located about an hour and a half away. You are both dressed to the nines, you have a little champagne (or beverage of your choice) on the ride there, you get to the restaurant, step out and head towards the door. Out walks what appears to be a sober, well-dressed couple. They caution you, telling you not to go in the restaurant. The food is horrible. They had to send their food back twice. The servers were loud and vulgar. The woman had a plate of spaghetti dropped on her. Plus they added an undeserving 25% gratuity to the bill. This is the second time they've been to the restaurant and last time wasn't much better. Would you have dinner at that restaurant? I'd have to ask the person I am with because it's their night, their celebration and the person may have had their heart set on the place. If that person didn't care, I'd find another restaurant nearby (unless I had my heart set on going there lol). Plus I'd get to spend more time in the limo, which isn't a bad deal.

In Bush's heart of hearts, is he a caring man?

My brother and I had another one of our Bush/Iraq debates yesterday.

He had been for the war and Bush, etc. but has since changed his mind. He's especially annoyed at Bush's stubbornish.

At one point, he said, now that he's against the war, I assume, "The difference between you and me is that I think Bush is caring but whereas you don't".

I countered that I think Bush is evil. He knowingly lied to America, started a senseless war where thousands have died, all so he can pay back a personal vendetta. Plus, he continues to tell lies. You get the idea.

When Bush was first elected, I told my brother that he was the anti-christ. I still say that to him. Yeah, it's exaggeration but it's the only way that I can convene how evil I think he is.

I'll tone it down a bit here and say he's a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Which leads me to ask, what do you think is in Bush's heart of hearts?

Korean Nukes Treaty

When all else fails, lower your standards. lol

I think this is a case of 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'. It's doubtful that North Korea will give up the nukes they have. Why bother make a deal that you know won't be kept? As it is, there's doubt Kim Jong II will stick to this plan.

The part that is surprising is that Bush, being the stubborn mule that he is, did lower his standards. This wouldn't have been acceptable to him before. It's like Iraq, where we're no longer striving for democracy, just peace.

As far as North Korea nuking us or Iran for that matter, it would never happen. First off, how would they reach America? North Korea's missile didn't come close and Iran is much further away. Secondly, they know we would annilate them.

I had heard the reason Bush is playing up Iran's role in Iraq is to help justify the war. Will the lies ever stop? Nope. Not until Bushie's long gone.

Health

Do you have a Primary Care Physician? Yes, I do. He moved to NY but I followed him. It's about an hour away.

Do you get a physical when your health plan allows? I try to get one every couple years but don't always.

Do you have health insurance? Yes, I do.

Do you get a mammogram each year or your PSA checked? Paleeezzeee. Last year, I had like 6 mammograms and ultrasounds, plus a couple of MRIs and biopsies for good measure. I'm loaded with cysts. I'm supposed to go for another one now but haven't called to make an appointment.

Do you take vitamins? Yes, I take all kinds of stuff. Me and the girl at GNC have become good buddies.

Do you exercise regularly? Not as much as I used to but yeah, I do.

Do you eat a lot of fast foods? No, too many calories, plus it's not good for you - but I would love to eat them all the time.

Do you smoke? No

Do you know your blood type, blood pressure number and your cholesterol numbers? I don't know my blood type but I know about what my blood pressure and cholesterol is.

Are you satisfied with your weight? Yeah, pretty much.

And just because I'm sick of all this healthy talk,

What is your most favorite desert to splurge on........ I like never eat dessert but ice cream is good. Cheese cake is too.

5 Worst Songs if forced to listen to continuously

If you were locked in a room by kidnappers or terrorists, which 5 songs -- if you had to listen to them CONTINUOUSLY with no break -- would have you telling everything you know the first day.

This is a very cruel topic but I'll play along anyway.

My two all time worst are:
Midnight at the Oasis
Loving You is Easy (cuz you're beautiful)

And the rest...
Anything by Paul Simon
We Didn't Start the Fire
Anything by Phil Collins

I'll repeat. This is a very cruel topic.

Second Bananas

Who is your favorite (male and female) TV second banana? Naturally, my first choice for women is Ethel Mertz. And naturally, my first choice for men, is Barney Fife. I've been watching that show lately and his body language alone makes him tops.

Honorable Mentions:

Ed Norton - ya gotta love him.

Karen Walker - loved her character, along with Jack. Will & Grace are only marginally funny.

Christine Baranski - between her martinis and Dr. Dick, she's hiLARious.

Rhoda - that's a given

Weekend Topic 2-10-07 & 2-11-07

- What is your favorite late night or early morning TV station? I watch Jay Leno (NBC) up until his first guest then I usually hit the hay. If I'm still up, I'm inclined to flip around, with a definite stopover on TV Land. Don't watch TV in the AM, when I wake up.

- Pretend you have no family obligations nor any physical limitations, if you were drafted into the army, for what you felt was a just cause (not Iraq, obviously), would you go? I don't believe in violence of any kind and I can't imagine I'd be able to shoot someone. However, if we were attacked or if a madman like Hitler was on the loose, well, I still don't think I'd fight, but I would help out in some way.

- Are you street smart or book smart? I'm about 50/50.

- What's the lowest priced stamp that you can remember? I remember when stamps were 8 cents.

- Is being content with one's life acceptable or should one always strive for more? The happiest people are those that are content with their lives and who aren't always striving for more. But hey, you only go around once, so I say strive for more.

- Would you shave off all your hair for $1,000 bucks? Most likely, yeah. Plus, it should grow back healthier.

Weekend Topic

- Name something you've bought from an infocommercial that was worth the money. The George Foreman Grill

- Do you consider yourself to be a perfectionist? It depends but generally, things don't have to be perfect but they need to be reasonably good.

- If you were given the opportunity to spend 6 months underwater in a submarine, would you take it? No, I don't think I'd be able to handle being bottled up in such close quarters for such a long period of time.

- You're with a group of friends and you're positive one of them just told a lie. Would you say something in front of everyone, would you hold it until later or would you not say anything at all? I wouldn't say it was an out-n-out lie in front of everyone but I would mostly likely challenge it on the spot or at least make it known that I didn't believe what was said.

- Tell us an interesting bit of trivia we may not know. The inside of your mouth heals the fastest.

- If you could teach the world something, what would it be? to be tolerant of those who are different from you
