I feel that if you are so desperate and impoverished that you are actually willing to risk your life to come to America to better yourself, then the least we can do is let you stay.

What I've never been able to comprehend is why the U.S. does not demand changes within Mexico to advance their economy so that people will not need to flee to America.

One of the gentleman running for President proposed building an extensive highway system. I don't know if this guy won or not but I thought that was a great first step.

Another factor is Economic freedom. The more the government interferes in the economy, the less economic freedom there is. This stifles grow.

Mexico is listed as the 60th most economically free country in the world. The U.S. is listed 9th in the world. Mexico lags behind Kuwait, Croatia, Macedonia, Armenia amongst others.

This is what has to change or the problem will never go away. We don't see Canadians crossing over in such large numbers. That's because Canada is listed as the 12th most economically free country.

Why we don't get to the root cause of the problem is plain stupid. JMHO.
