Lieberman/Lamont Rant
This is a little off topic but I just have to rant a little here.
Joe Lieberman won the democratic primary in the city where I live. Afterwards, Ned Lamont's campaign manager said our city is 'where the forces of slime meet the forces of evil'. A huge deal was made out of it. Our mayor called for Ned Lamont to apologize. He went on the air last week and did so. Now our Republican obsessed newspaper printed an editoral saying 'apology rejected' because his campaign manager still has his job so that means that Lamont must really feel that way about our city.
It's stupid stuff like this that gets people going. This has nothing to do with the issues but people will take this crap to the bank. Now people are writing letters to the editor saying how wonderful our city is and how crazy Lamont's campaign manager is.
Our newspaper still stands by Bush. Some months ago, they called opposing the war to be borderline treason.
I can't even begin to tell you how ticked off this newspaper makes me and the fact that people believe their editorials to be fact and not opinion.
One more off the subject rant - Connecticut is the first state to pass a civil union bill for same-sex couples without having been ordered by the court. A few months back, a couple wanted to dissolve their civil union. Our paper concluded from this that same-sex couples fought for something (civil-unions) they never really wanted in the first place. Sick - Sick - Sick. They also believe that those behind the NY Times revealing the wire taps should be arrested for treason.
Thank God the rest of the state is liberal. Sorry, just had to rant.
